There is a new beauty offering in Inverness city centre.

Timeless Salon opened on Market Brae Steps earlier this month, offering hair and make-up services to its clients. The salon is an extension of Timeless Spa and Beauty, which was born five years ago.

For owner Caoimhe Simpson Timeless Salon is a dream come true, and she is excited about this new venture.

She said: "I never imagined being in the position where I could open up an extension. When I first opened five years ago, I had no appointments and I would sit there all day without anyone coming in.

"To where I am now is a dream come true. I am now fully booked, have a team, and we are able to provide more services.

"This is the final step in what I wanted to achieve."

Being able to have a team around her, and work with others is an important part of the business for the 27-year-old.

"I used to manage salons in Aberdeen, and I loved having a team around me", she said.

"I loved the support of that, so to be able to work with other incredible women in the city is amazing. I am all about women uplifting women, so it is a breath of fresh air for me.

"We are able to bounce ideas off one another, and learn new skills from each other.

"It is also important for me to give other girls the opportunity I had. To be self-employed and encourage others who wish to have their own place makes me happy."

Inverness city centre has seen a lot of change over the last few years, with many shops shutting down. However, Ms Simpson is optimistic about the future of the city centre, and hopes that a young generation of business owners will bring in a fresh burst of life.

She said: "We have seen a lot of changes in the city centre over the last five years.

"But the businesses that are surviving and thriving are the service based ones, so it is nice to be a part of that.

"I think this is a new era for Inverness, and there is so much happening. There are small changes, but it is good. There is a new generation of business owners, who are able to bring new fresh ideas to the table."

The innovative space has unique features such as a glass panelled staircase, mirrors with LED lighting and a backwash with massage function. There are four make-up artistry stations alongside four hair styling stations to suit all individual needs as well as group party bookings.

The extension would not have been possible without the support of two important people says Ms Simpson.

"I am very fortunate to have an incredible landlord", she explained.

"Jonathan Mason and his son Neil have just been amazing.

"They have renovated both premises for me, so it is bright, modern and clean.

"They both had faith in my business and believed in me, so I am so thankful for their support.

"It is rare that you find a landlord like that."
