A leading aerial survey and inspection business with a base in Inverness is set to expand its operations after buying up a commercial drone operator.

PDG Aviation Services, which already provides aerial survey, inspection and lifting work for a range of critical infrastructure firms, believes the acquisition of Team UAV will further enhance its ability to monitor vital power, rail and other industries.

It believes the take-over will strengthen its position as a “comprehensive aerial services provider” as it will enhance its surveying, inspections and imaging capabilities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Team UAV to PDG,” said Shaun Strain, chief executive at PDG. “Their expertise in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology perfectly complements our existing services, allowing us to deliver even greater value to our customers with advanced aerial solutions.”

“This is an exciting milestone for Team UAV,” said Lewis Pritchard, managing director at Team UAV. “Joining forces with PDG means we can scale our operations, enhance our service offerings, and continue pushing the boundaries of UAV technology.”

The integration of Team UAV into PDG is effective immediately.
