Easter message: Bishop Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness
With church congregations across Inverness unable to gather for the most important festival in the Christian calendar due to coronavirus restrictions, Easter this year will be very different.
Although the buildings may be empty, many are reporting growing online audience figures while this year the Easter messages from city church leaders are of hope and love.
Bishop Mark Strange, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness, gives his message:
Today is Good Friday, a day when we remember the crucifixion of Jesus, remembering his isolation of the cross, the moment when he sees his mother standing weeping below him, the moment he died for us.
I am used to being quiet and reflective on this day but by Sunday, Easter Day, I would be shouting from the steps of Inverness Cathedral, 'Alleluia Christ is Risen'.
This year, the isolation of Good Friday may seem no different from other days and the joy of Easter will seem muted, yet the message remains the same.
Christ died that we might live. He rose again to show us the path to eternal life. Alleluia
