NESS Walk brings an unparalleled level of hospitality to the Highlands and with the new year, a fresh face is taking the helm as General Manager: Kevin Staines.

Renowned for its elegance, exquisite dining and impeccable service, Ness Walk prides itself on anticipating guests needs at every moment. From personally welcoming back returning regulars to surprising guests on their special occasions - it is this level of service that earned Ness Walk the title of Best Urban Hotel 2022 from world-wide travel professionals Condé Nast Johansens.

Meeting him in the sun-filled drawing room overlooking the river, Kevin was a delight to talk to, and radiated enthusiasm as he talked about his new role: “I absolutely love the people here; the guests, the team and the culture”

“I have been at Ness Walk for five weeks and have already had the opportunity to welcome back familiar faces. It’s excellent to be a part of an internationally recognised hotel, here in the heart of Inverness.”

Nairn-born Kevin has been in love with the hospitality industry since his first role as a teenager. Over the past 4 years, Kevin has made an impact in senior management at the much- loved Kingsmills Hotel and he describes his key to success when delivering exceptional service.

He explained; “It all begins with a world-class welcome. At Ness Walk this begins ahead of our guest’s arrival with a personal welcome call and an offer of concierge services. As they arrive, their luggage is whisked off straight to their rooms as guests are welcomed into the lounge to relax with a complimentary glass of Champagne.”

“This first impression sets the tone for the stay and every interaction is a perfect blend of attentiveness and professionalism while always charming and never stuffy”

Kevin is keen to shine a light on Ness Walk as a food destination for the Highlands. Sharing some insights into what is coming up, he said: “We love creating incredible food experiences and our monthly Supper Club is not-to-be-missed.

“Our Torrish Restaurant has earned its place as one of the top restaurants in the city and whether it be for a relaxed dinner, or a celebration, we want to be known as the go-to for exquisite food and drink”

Kevin is proud to share that Ness Walk is part of Pride of Britain Hotels; an invitation-only collection of the finest luxury independent hotels in the UK. This is a true mark of quality as the hotel joins other stunning properties including The Torridon and Fife Arms.

He’s also passionate about inspiring people into joining the industry; “We have an exceptional team and we invest in each and every individual; upskilling, developing their confidence, recognising achievements and honing their passions to enable them to grow in their career. Our Modern Apprenticeship offers young people a route into the industry with qualifications to help them flourish and carve a future in hospitality.”
