Inverness’s Eden Court set to hold Better Beginnings family fun day for Highland families
Happy laughter is set to fill Eden Court soon when it plays host to a family fun day.
The Brighter Beginnings fun day, which is being held by the Inverness Family Centre, will provide a host of un activities for families with children under five on Monday, March 3 from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
The day will feature a whole host of fun games and activities - from messy play and scavenger hunts, to outdoor play and puppet shows.
A fire engine, police car and play bus will also be on site.
And the first 100 parents or carers to come along will even receive a free goodie bag.
As well as providing a host of fun-filled activities, the day will also offer an insight into what is available for the region’s youngest children.
Councillor David Fraser, chairman of Highland Council’s health social care and wellbeing committee, said: “Brighter Beginnings is the first event held by Inverness Family Centre bringing together families and professionals to see what’s available for Highland’s youngest children. I hope that many families will take advantage of this great new opportunity.”
Gillian Forbes, PEEP co-ordinator at the Inverness Family Centre added: “We are delighted to be hosting this event and are excited to welcome families along to meet services and enjoy the activities. We recognise the importance of the Infant Pledge and working alongside families to give our youngest children the best possible start in life.”
The event will run alongside the ‘Brighter Beginnings: Why early years matter’ Conference where there will be keynote speakers including Dan Wuori, founder and president of Early Childhood Policy Solutions in the United States, and international author.
Dan said: “I am looking forward to visiting the Highlands and meeting everyone. Learning starts before a baby is born and it’s vital that we recognise the importance of education in early years. This event is a great opportunity to talk about the role of parents/carers and professionals in giving our youngest children the best possible start in life.”
Over 100 parents/carers and professionals will attend the conference including children under five.
