Highland folk-rock band Torridon celebrates 20 Years with sold-out homecoming show in Inverness
Fans came out in force as Highland folk-rock heroes Torridon marked a milestone 20th anniversary in unforgettable style with a sellout show in Inverness.
The concert, at the Inverness Leisure Centre, was part of the band’s celebratory XX Tour.
Despite stormy weather and the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis, 1400 fans filled the venue to capacity, proving once again that the Highlands have a deep-rooted appetite for homegrown talent and live music.

The evening was a true celebration of Highland culture and camaraderie with support acts Folk’d Up and crowd favourites Trail West setting the tone for an electrifying night.
Always ones to get the crowd going – Torridon once again delivered a high-energy performance which had fans dancing, singing, and celebrating throughout.
The sold-out show underscored the resilience and loyalty of the local music scene, especially during times when many households face financial challenges.
With rising costs impacting ticket sales for live events across the UK, the success of Torridon’s Inverness show is a powerful testament to the enduring love for live music and the pride the Highlands take in their own talent.
Since the band’s formation in 2004, Torridon has grown from a folk duo into a six-piece folk-rock phenomenon, gracing stages from Inverness pubs to iconic venues like Hampden Park.
Known for their infectious energy and heartfelt connection to their roots, the band members can be found regularly featuring in festivals such as Belladrum and The Gathering.
The success of the XX Tour, celebrating 20 years of music, is a testament to the band’s enduring appeal.
With additional stops planned across Scotland, Torridon is looking forward to sharing their music with even more fans.
Speaking about the Inverness event, frontman Kenny Smith said: “We are incredibly overwhelmed by the support and huge crowd we had at the Leisure Centre.
“Twenty years ago, I never imagined that we would ever headline and sell out such a huge event. Here’s to the next 20!”
Caroline Campbell, of Ironworks Venue, which presented the show, said afterwards: “Ironworks was delighted to be back as part of Torridon’s XX anniversary party and so well supported by Trail West and Folk’d Up.
