Public feedback is being sought on plans to create the first indoor skatepark for Inverness.

The Inverness Wheeled Sports Club hopes to develop year-round access to wheeled sports, whatever the weather, and also envisages it would serve as a new community hub.

It has now begun work on a feasibility study having been given funding from Highland Council’s Community Regeneration Fund.

This will be the first time a venue of this type has been established for the skateboarding and other wheeled sports communities in Inverness.

The planned facility will provide year-round access to a safe and secure venue for skateboarders, roller skaters, and scooter and BMX riders.

The study is being carried out in conjunction with Alan Jones Associates who have been involved in creating many outdoor skateparks across Scotland,

It follows on from a survey carried out in 2019.

The IIWSC says to ensure success in the next stages of development it needs to take a fresh look at what the people of Inverness think regarding the creation of an indoor skatepark and community hub for the city.

Those wishing to take part can use a direct link to the survey, or via the club’s website.
