Festive fun for all the family down at Farm Ness near Inverness
A farm which starred in BBC documentary ‘This Farming Life’ is set to welcome families to a special Christmas event – Farmer Christmas.
Farm Ness, which is located at Dunain Mains south of Inverness, just off the A82, is promising some Christmassy fun at the special event over the coming weekends.
The farm stretches across 3000 acres and includes hundreds of livestock, as well as woolly pigs, Highland cows and pygmy goats.
The farm, which has been embracing “regenerative farming” in recent years that includes introducing more wild flowers and hedgerows, starred in the BBC’s This Farming Life show in 2021.
This weekend’s fun looks set to provide a double helping of links to that show, with the current family from the Cairngorms apparently set to come along with their miniature donkeys.
“Climb aboard our Santa Express as we take you on a new and never seen before journey,” said a spokesperson for the farm.
“We will cross the enchanted field where we will have a surprise at the end destination. Hop off in the field to meet this years star attraction before boarding the express back to the park. We have some exciting friends visiting Farm Ness to meet you.
“Post your letter to Farmer Christmas.
“We will have our usual farm fun and you will have the option of purchasing an extra ticket for little ones to meet Santa. There are lots of photo opportunities with our hand painted signs and decorations.”
They added: “We have decorated the place enormously with hand painted decorations, we have the Black Isle show trailer to do tractor rides and we are having an area for MFR cash for kids where customers can pick a carrot for Rudolph. We have our own Christmas trees for sale too alongside our own beef for Xmas dinner! We sell hot food using our own beef and other local farms produce.”
Hot food from the farm and other local farms will be available, as well as home backing and gifts.
