Final phase of White Bridge works at River Nairn
The final phase of the project to provide a new crossing of the River Nairn at White Bridge is well under way with work about to start to connect the new bridge crossing with the realigned B9090 route.
To allow this work to be carried out safely, Highland Council is advising all road users that a temporary road closure will be in place on part of the B9090 Loch Flemington-Clephanton-Cawdor-Nairn road, Nairn from 8.30am on May 6 until 8am on May 27.
The area of the B9090 route affected is between its cross roads with the B9091 Croy-Clephanton-Kildrummie-Nairn road in a south-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 1280m.
A diversion will be in place with restrictions applying to all vehicle drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
The works for this £2.65 million project began in September and are being carried out on behalf of the council by RJ McLeods (Contractors),
A spokesman for the council said: “We have been in close contact with the local community throughout the works and would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience.
"We have tried to keep any disruption to a minimum and apologise for any disruption this final temporary road closure may have.
"We encourage everyone to follow the diversion signs and allow extra time for their journeys.”
