One person suffered minor smoke inhallation after a fire destroyed a toilet in a cafe on Academy Street in Inverness last night.

The incident at the three-storey terraced building in the Old Town was reported to the Fire and Rescue Service at 10.45pm.

A fire services spokeswoman said two fire appliances and a hydraulic platform were at the scene and it took about an hour for crews to put out the fire.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We did have an ambulance attend but no-one was taken to hospital."
