Inverness firefighters tackle tree blaze in Mackay Road

Inverness firefighters were called out today after a tree in the city caught fire.

The alarm was raised at 1.49pm and when the crew arrived in Mackay Road they used a hose reel jet to douse the flames.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said the fire covered an area of one square metre and it was extinguished by 2.21pm.
