A flag-raising ceremony will be held at Inverness Town House on Monday to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.
The UK-wide week of celebrations is a chance for the public to show their support and appreciation for the Armed Forces community and culminates in Armed Forces Day on Saturday June 28.
Armed Forces Day flags will be raised on buildings and landmarks around the country including Inverness Town House and Highland Council’s headquarters in Glenurquhart Road.

An Armed Forces Day parade will take place in Inverness city centre on Saturday June 28 starting at 1.45pm.
Led by the Inverness Royal British Legion Scotland Band, it will march from the Eastgate Centre along High Street to Inverness Cathedral for a drumhead service supported by the Inverness Military Wives Choir.
Inverness Provost, Councillor Glynis Campbell Sinclair, will take the salute along with Wing Commander Shane Spence, of the RAF Regiment, and David Sutherland.
“This is a chance for us to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from serving personnel to service families, veterans, and cadets,” Provost Sinclair said.
“This flag-raising ceremony is an opportunity to recognise the work that our Armed Forces do to protect our country and show our deep appreciation for their service.
“They would not be able to undertake their role without the incredible support of their family and friends.”
