UK fog-bound airports spark flight delays; several arrivals at Inverness Airport disrupted, including ones from Gatwick and Manchester

Several flights into Inverness were delayed on Friday evening amid reports of dense fog disruption in parts of the UK.

Manchester and Gatwick were among the airports reportedly affected - and both were among four incoming departure origins that were listed as being "delayed" at Inverness Airport.

The 7.30pm arrival from Luton, 7.35pm from Heathrow, 8.35pm from Gatwick, and the 9.20pm from Manchester were all delayed at the time of writing at 9.55pm.

Nats, the main traffic control provider in the UK was reported by the BBC as saying: "Due to widespread fog, temporary air traffic restrictions are in place at several airports across the UK today,"
