Friends step out for charity and raise £10,040 for James Support Group by walking 10 miles from Tain to Portmahomack in memory of their friend Frazer More who took his own life
A dedicated group of friends and family has raised an incredible amount for an Inverness charity in memory of their friend.
The group raised £10,040 between them in aid of the James Support Group which offers support to anyone affected by suicide, whether suffering suicidal thoughts or struggling with the death of a loved who took their own life.
It regularly holds meetings at the Mercure Hotel in Inverness.
The friends raised the sum through a 10-mile walk from Tain to Portmahomack in honour of Frazer More who took his own life.
A spokeswoman for the fundraising group said: “It’s absolutely amazing to see that a wee idea I came up with one day to remember our friend has resulted in over £10,000 being raised for a charity that’s now very dear to us – James Support Group.”
The group had originally hoped to raise £500 to help the charity with its running costs.
James Support Group also holds regular meetings in Nairn as well as Thurso and Aviemore with plans for others in Invergordon and Dingwall in the new year.
