Met Office issues yellow weather warning for heavy rain in parts of Inverness-shire and Ross-shire; alert covers a number of Highland areas including Inverness, Loch Ness, Dingwall, the Black Isle and parts of the Cairngorms; it also extends across Moray, Aberdeenshire and most of Angus
YET another yellow weather warning has come into force in parts of the Highlands.
The Met Office is warning of further heavy rain, after a spate of unsettled weather saw them issue several separate alerts for snow, ice and rain in recent days.
The latest alert came into force at 6am on Saturday and is expected to remain in place until midday.
"Further persistent rain, heavy at times, is expect to persist this morning," said a spokesman. "A further 15-25mm is possible in places, particularly over northern parts of the warning area. Rain will become less persistent later today."
The area covered by the alert includes Inverness, Loch Ness, Nairn, the Black Isle, Dingwall and parts of Easter Ross.
It also covers the Cairngorms and Grampian mountains, the whole of Moray and Aberdeenshire, most of Angus, and extends as far south as the Sidlaw Hills, just north of Dundee.
Forecasters have warned that localised flooding "of a few homes and businesses is likely" and that bus and train services will "probably" be affected.
Spray and flooding on roads may also be a problem for motorists.
