GENERAL ELECTION: Chance to quiz candidates for Nairnshire at Findhorn event
Here’s a chance to question six of the seven general election candidates standing for the Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey constituency.
All are welcome to a ‘hustings’ at The Universal Hall in Findhorn Eco-Village on Monday, June 24, from 7.15pm to 9pm.
The event is being organised by Chris Hart, who describes himself as a “democrat”.
Mr Hart said: “I’m not a supporter of any political party. In fact, I’m not sure who I’ll vote for yet.
“If these people are representing us all then I think it would be nice to get to know them a bit, hear them speak and learn their thoughts about the way forward for the area.
“The Universal Hall has agreed to let us have the venue for free.
“Its cafe will also be open so people will be able to come along that Monday and make an evening of it.”
The public is being invited to send their questions in advance to Robin Alfred, who will be moderating the event. Contact him at robinalfred1@gmail.com
It’s hoped there will also be time for questions on the night.
The new Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey parliamentary seat includes Elgin and Forres as well as Grantown, Aviemore and Nairn.
The six candidates who’ve agreed to be present on Monday, June 24 are:
Neil Alexander (Lib Dems),
James Hynam (Labour Party),
Graham Leadbitter (SNP),
Euan Morrice (Scottish Family Party),
Kathleen Robertson (Conservative)
