Highland green group’s achievements to be celebrated
A Highland partnership that has worked to reduce waste is to look back at its achievements in a series of online events as it gets ready to wind up after three years.
The Highland Community Waste Partnership has been led and driven by eight community groups across the Highlands and coordinated by environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful.
To reflect on the progress and learnings of the partnership, a webinar series will kick off on March 17, showcasing key areas of activity including partnership working, food waste and composting, share and repair, and single-use items and packaging.

Coordinator Georgina Massourak said: “Over the past three years we have achieved and learned so much so it will be great to bring everyone together to reflect on the impact we have had in the Highlands and share this with others working in this space.
“Partnership working, sharing ideas and learning together has been critical and while the partnership is coming to an end, it is imperative that we continue its legacy and ensure future work and endeavours are built upon and strengthened by what we have learned.
“Community climate action is a vital part of Scotland’s net zero journey and there’s still lots to do. I hope everyone who is interested in reducing waste and consumption attends, be it individuals, community groups, businesses or other stakeholders and will hopefully be inspired to continue the legacy of the Highland Community Waste Partnership.
“The partnership may be coming to an end but what we have achieved will be a foundation for future work and live on through these wonderful community groups who have played such a vital role in making it this huge success.”
