WATCH: Highland Boys and Girls Brigade perform in Inverness city centre to mark their 140th anniversary
A bugle and pipe band performed in Falcon Square to celebrate and explore the heritage of the Boys and Girls Brigade, in addition to commemorate their 140th anniversary of the founding of the Boys Brigade.
There were a total of 85 people who took part in the performance, which ranged from members of The Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade from groups in Sawston, Malvern, Harlington, Wootton, Peterborough, Croydon and Manchester.
Dozens of people gathered to watch the marching band parade which lasted from 5pm till 6pm on Tuesday October 24.
During their tour of Scotland the group are set to visit Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Thurso.
Michael MacAulay, secretary of the Highland Boys Brigade said: "It was great to welcome the visiting bands to Inverness, many who have not visited the Highlands before, particularly during the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Boys Brigade. The bands were great and entertained the crowds!"
He added: "The Boys Brigade provides children and young people the opportunity to learn grow and discover right across the country and its was great to see young people from groups in England visiting the Highlands, and learning about Boys Brigade in other parts of the country."
