A small Highland community is preparing to quiz national political figures when it hosts a live radio discussion programme on Friday.

BBC Radio 4's popular and long-running topical discussion programme, Any Questions?, will be broadcast from Kirkhill Community Centre at 8pm.

The programme, which visits a different venue around the UK each week, hosted is BBC journalist Alex Forsyth.

Aird Community Trust is hosting the Kirkhill event.

Chairman Erik Lundberg said, it was the first time the programme had come to Kirkhill.

"It is really exciting to have a UK national programme happening here in the Highlands," he said.

He expected SSEN's controversial plans for the Highland overhead power line and a massive new 400kV substation at Fanellan near Beauly to be among the local issues people would want to see discussed.

"It will be good to see what national politicians have say about it as well as UK national and international events, too," he said.

The audience capacity is 150 and there are still a few tickets remaining.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the audience must be seated by 7.15pm.

The programme will repeated on Radio 4 on Saturday at 2pm.

Free tickets are available online on Eventbrite, by emailing kccbookings@airdcommunity.com or by phoning 01463 783795.
