Highland Heroes are crowned in Inverness
Winners of the annual Highland Heroes have been announced in Inverness.
The special celebration, organised by Highland News and Media, at the Drumossie Hotel brought together unsung heroes from across the region.

More than 400 people saw community champion Peter Corbett, who has devoted his life to inspirational work in the South Kessock community in Inverness, crowned hero of heroes.
A former Highland councillor and footballer, who grew up in Merkinch, works with the Merkinch Partnership to help young people get jobs and has spent more than three decades coaching at the Merkinch Football Academy before hanging up his boots last year.
An emotional evening of laughter, entertainment, fabulous food and drink, and great camaraderie saw more than a dozen other awards handed out.
All the award winners were:
• Brave child: Melissa Mathieson.
• Primary pupil: Angus MacDonald.
• Primary teacher: Elaine Maciver.
• Secondary pupil: Orlagh MacIver.
• Secondary teacher: Rachel Cavellini.
