Inverness hotel hoping to create a special day for Ukrainian refugees
A hotel that is housing Ukrainian refugees in Inverness is hoping to create a festive experience for its guests.
The Craigmonie Hotel on Annfield Road, has been hosting those fleeing war since the beginning of September this year.
Having been closed to customers since then, the hotel is now gearing up for Christmas, and has planned a sit-down meal on Christmas day.
Head chef Kimberly Oman said: "We are normally fully booked for Christmas day, but this year we are going to do a sit down meal for all those who are staying with us.
"This is a hard time of year for them, but we want to try and make it as normal as we can for them."
The staff at the hotel usually do a 'secret santa' for one another, however, this year they are going to buy gifts for the 30 children they have with them.
Ms Oman added: "We are all going to get a gift for the children this year, rather than for ourselves.
"They decorated our Christmas tree too, so we have all been getting into the festive spirit."
