North Kessock RNLI car wash is a huge success
The annual fundraising car wash held by Kessock RNLI was a record breaker this time round.
The event held at the North Kessock lifeboat station took place yesterday, with a total of 342 vehicles rolling up to be serviced, more than turned out last year.

And the event raised almost £4000 which will go towards keeping the life-saving charity service going over the weeks and months ahead.
As organisers posted online afterwards: “What a day!!!”
And they added: “Thank you so much to all our volunteers who washed cars, made tea, baked cakes, made soup, kept everyone fed and watered, collected donations, directed traffic, and so much more.
“Thank you once again to the village and residents of North Kessock who always support us, and allow us to take over the main road in the village once a year!
“Thank you to our suppliers, sponsors and local businesses who donated chemicals, food, machinery, PPE (more on this to come).
“However, the biggest thank you goes to everyone of you, our loyal supporters, who came out in your hundreds, sitting for up to 40 minutes in the queue to support our cause and helping us to raise a whopping £3895 to help us continue in our mission of saving lives at sea!!!!!
“We know things are tight for a lot of people just now and we never expected in a million years to raise over £800 more than last year, so from our table to yours, Thank You, Cheers, Sláinte.”
The charity charged just£5 for car washing and £7.50 for vans and 4x4s and some of those who took their vehicles along on the day have also been showing their appreciation online.
Erica Anne Salmon said: “You guys all did amazing. Team and community spirit at its best. Fantastic amount! Well done.”
And Munro Ross posted: “Excellent, it was very efficiently run.I now have a gleaming car.”
