Police are hunting a pair of conmen who carried out a 'ringing the changes' cash scam on post offices across the Inverness area.

Two men, described as Eastern European and in their early 30s, made a cool £1200 after visiting post offices in Inverness city centre, Drumnadrochit, Muir of Ord and Beauly yesterday.

The fraud involved requesting Sterling be exchanged into Euros and the men deliberately confused staff so more money than they originally asked for was handed over.

During three out of four of the reported incidents, the men left with more cash.

One man is described as 5 ft 8in with short dark hair, medium to heavy build and dark stubble beard.

The second, 6 ft with dark hair and four distinctive gold teeth, dressed in a black leather jacket, dark blue jeans and wearing a dark red baseball cap.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
