Inverness Skating and Ice Dance club spun their way to success in friendly competition
Members of a local ice skating club enjoyed a friendly Spin, Spiral and Dance competition hosted by their coaches.
The Inverness Skating and Ice Dance Club saw skaters of all ages, some as young as four, turn up and take part in the fun on the day.
Tesco kindly donated crisps and water to the performers and the club were selling flowers and merchandise.
Seniors took to the ice first, followed by each level afterwards. Each skater performed three elements they are working on for their grades, and enjoyed having some fun and wearing their costumes after a tough period due to lockdown.
Club secretary Sarah Mackintosh was delighted with the event.
“This is the first competition we have been able to run since summer 2019 due to Covid closures and restrictions,” she said.
“The aim was to ease everyone back in to competition and give new club members a taste of competing in a fun and relaxed environment.
“It was a great success and our members really enjoyed the day.
“We were delighted to be able to get back to running events again and are already planning our next!”
