Inverness BID director expresses sadness at closure of city centre Semichem
The director of Inverness Business Improvement District (BID) has expressed her sadness after hearing that a city centre shop is closing down and has urged people to continue supporting local retailers.
It was announced earlier on today that Semichem on Queensgate will be permanently closed from Friday 28, with four jobs being lost.
Lorraine Bremner McBride, director of Inverness BID said: "It remains a very challenging time for many retailers due to a number of external pressures.
"We are very sorry to hear that Semichem are to close their city centre store with the resultant redundancies for the four staff affected.
"It remains more important than ever that we shop in locally based businesses when we can to help support and put our local economy and local jobs first."
