POLICE rushed to an Inverness car park after a man threatened to jump from the top level on Tuesday night.

Officers sealed off the area at the Rose Street multi-storey close to Inverness bus station after receiving a call just before 7pm.

But police brought the episode to a "postive" conclusion by 10pm.

Railway Terrace, Rose Street and Longman Road were all closed to the public during the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a male person has been detained following an earlier incident at the Rose Street multi-storey car park Inverness."
