Inverness charity preparing and delivering more than 170 free meals a week

An Inverness food charity has given away or delivered hundreds of meals over the last month, during the coronavirus lockdown.

The In This Together cafe said that last week alone it has given away 173 meals to people over the city.

A spokeswoman for the organisation said: "173 meals were sent out last week. Thanks to the Acts of Kindness team for coordinating home deliveries, and to Inverness Masjid Highland Central Mosque for creating some delicious dishes handed out from the cafe today."

In This Together is a non-profit making charity which provides support and guidance to third sector organisations and individuals in Inverness and Nairn.

The spokeswoman continued: "Also thanks to the team at Inverness Foodstuff who are just always there with us."
The cafe, where meals can be picked up at 5 Tomnahurich Street ,is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 11-2pm for people to pick up meals and on Monday evening there is a hot meal service between 5-6pm.
