Inverness electrician fined for drug-driving on A9 near Daviot

Inverness electrician Eryk Walantyne was fined £370 and banned from driving for a year after admitting being behind the wheel of his vehicle with more than the legal limit of a cannabis derivative in his system.

The 29-year-old, of India Street, pleaded guilty at Inverness Sheriff Court to the offence which occurred on June 26, 2023 on the A9 near Daviot.

His lawyer, Hugh Robertson, said his client had smoked cannabis with a friend on the Saturday before the Monday offence.
