WATCH: Inverness High Street star shines as Christmas countdown begins!
As we countdown to Christmas Day there is no better place to do all your festive shopping than in Inverness city centre.
And at a time where we are all watching the pennies, Poundland is perfect for purchasing your festive goodies, from gifts and decorations to tasty treats and all the essentials.
Throughout these challenging times, the discount store has become a trusted and valued business right at the heart of the city centre on the High Street and much of its success is down to store manager Kenny Nicol, a well-known face among local businesses and shoppers alike.
Which is why Kenny has been named an Inverness BID city centre star!
Kenny has been the store manager for eight years and was recently named store manager of the year by Poundland for Scotland and the north of England.
Kenny is looking forward to welcoming people back to the city centre as they get ready for Christmas and says Inverness is a special place to shop, to visit and to work.
“It’s the diversity of people, it’s very friendly and open. I probably know most of the managers on the High Street and we always help each other out. It’s a great, great place. People always look out for each other.
“And with the credit crunch people are looking to shop around for the best value for their money.”
Kenny is delighted Poundland has signed up to the Inverness City Centre Gift Card which can be redeemed in over 130 locally based businesses in the city centre including retail, leisure, hospitality, legal services, health and beauty and many more.
Launched on Saturday, November 5, in the Eastgate Centre and in the Victorian Market between 11am and 4pm, the gift card initiative is part of the #invernessloveslocal campaign and supported by Highland Council, to help support your local economy and people.
“You can use it to shop anywhere”, said Kenny. “In this day and age it is getting harder to get the right present. You just don’t know what’s the best present for someone sometimes.
“With the gift card they have so many different businesses they can link into and spend on a more personal present, and this way it’s keeping money in the city centre as well.”
Kenny also paid tribute to his city centre star, Inverness BID ambassador Janice Worthing, ‘she’s absolutely outstanding’. BID director Lorraine Bremner McBride added: “It is our people and businesses that help to make our city centre the great place it is and we wanted to say a big thank you to Kenny and his team for all their hard work and also for all they do to help make Inverness a cheerier place to visit.”
The gift card will be available to purchase online with an option to have a physical or a digital card at www.invernessgiftcard.com. #Invernessloveslocal
