Inverness long distance cyclist crosses from Poland into Germany on his 1000-mile trip between Gdansk and The Gellions pub in aid of the Ukrainian appeal
An Inverness long-distance cyclist has crossed the border between Poland and Germany and is making good progress on his trip.
Alasdair Fraser is hoping to cycle the 1000-mile route between Gdansk in Poland and The Gellions pub in Inverness in aid of the Ukrainian appeal.
He said: "I made a solid 74 miles into Germany to a wee town called Demmin. Some striking scenery – very exposed – big skies and cross winds.
"Enjoyable mostly, but definitely fell out of love with cobblestones on several stretches through farms and villages."
He said that he wanted to thank all his sponsors and added: "I have started to get a few folk I don't know spreading the word and chipping in."
So far he has covered around 375 miles in just over five days.
