An Inverness mum of three is hitting the dancefloor to raise money for charity.

Maz Orrock (44) is taking part in Strictly Inverness 2025, which sees contestants take on intensive dance training to raise funds for the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

The amateur dancers will perform three different dances to a crowd of 600 people in May.

As an administrator for Highland Security, Maz is passionate about Inverness Ice Centre and its indispensable role in the community.

She said: “For me, I’m taking part in this year’s Strictly Inverness because I see how important the ice centre is.

“As a mum, it supports so many young people and it is an important community space in a region which lacks a lot.

“The ice centre relies on events like Strictly Inverness to keep running and I’m glad I can be part of this. We need to ensure places like the ice centre are here to stay because so many people benefit from it.”

Alongside the dance training, contestants must also host events to raise funds for the charities.

Maz’s first event is a night of mediumship at Inverness Ice Centre this Friday, February 21.

The event will start at 7.30pm with tickets costing £15.

She also has Sound Bath on March 23 at the Ice Centre at 1.45pm and an Ice Disco on March 29 at 4pm.

Tickets for all events can be purchased by emailing events@inverness-ice-centre.co.uk

On the dance training, Maz added: “Practice is going good and I’m really enjoying it. But my poor body? Not so much!

“It’s great meeting up and getting stuck into training with everyone. It will be amazing on performance night!”

Maz will be performing her dances on May 16 at Inverness Ice Centre.
