An Inverness police dog has been praised as a “hero” for his persistence in tracking down suspects.

Police Dog Wolf and his handler were given recognition on the Police Scotland Highland and Islands Facebook page, after tracking down two suspects through fields, over burns and through woods.

Police Scotland Highland and Islands said: “After a pursuit in Inverness, PD Wolf and his leash holder found the car abandoned. Wolf tracked the [suspects] across fields, over burns and through woods

“Their persistence paid off as they traced the two suspects in a field. The driver was arrested after failing both breathalyser and Drug Wipe tests.”

Many took to social media to share praise for PD Wolf.

Les Davidson said: “Great work PD Wolf and the wee fella holding the leash too.”

Marie Delaney Cruickshank added: “Well done! A hero!”
