POLICE at Inverness are hunting a suspected fireraiser after a sporty German saloon was destroyed during the night earlier this week.

The incident occurred around 1.30am on Monday on Clava Road in Hilton and involved an Audi A4 TDI 2litre, silver in colour.

Police inquires began after the car was discovered well alight, and today it was revealed they were looking for a suspect.

A spokesman at Inverness said that a man was seen to walk towards the car just prior to the fire.

He was then seen to run away from the car when it was alight.

Police are appealing for anybody who has information about this man or the fire to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
