The Community Regeneration Funding will be used for works including roofing replacement, electrical upgrading, and kitchen improvements to enable the unit to continue providing activities for young people.

Community regeneration funding comprises elements of the UK government’s Shared Prosperity Fund along with the Highland Coastal Communities Fund and the Place Based Investment Programme, both of which are Scottish Government funding streams to support economic regeneration and sustainable development in the Highlands.

Following a recommendation from the Inverness Common Good Fund sub-committee, members of the council’s Inverness area committee have also approved a grant of £20,000 towards building fabric improvements to keep the building wind and watertight, extending the life of the Sea Cadet Base at Kessock Road in Inverness.
