The Inverness branch of Semichem is set to close permanently on Friday, with four people being made redundant.

Based on Queensgate, the beauty supply store stated that increased costs and not being able to find an affordable rent in the city has led to the closure.

A Semichem spokesperson said: “With great regret, we are announcing that our Semichem store in Inverness will close on Friday April 28.

"The lease on the building is reaching the end and we have been unable to secure a favourable rent deal for the store.

"The impact of increased costs and a prolonged period of tough trading has contributed to the store’s closure.

“Affected staff have been informed and we are working with them to provide any support and assistance they require at this difficult time.”
