Inverness wheelers are set to get their skates on for the city’s very first skate jam this weekend.

A boom in the popularity of skateboarding locally saw the Inshes Skate Park open in March and the Inverness Wheeled Sports Club-run venue will host the event on Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

Crowds can expect to be wowed by a host of tricks and fun challenges from participants, accompanied by music, at the free event.

The park managers will also be looking for donations from those in attendance and taking part to boost funds for the development of a proposed new indoor facility and skateboard school.

The plans, currently in their infancy, would be a first for Inverness should they come to fruition.
