Students at Cantraybridge College in Inverness get their heads shaved to help Hospice UK charity during coronavirus lockdown
Five Cantraybridge College students have raised more than £500 for Hospice UK after they had their heads shaved.
The event was on Friday in Cantray Square, Croy, and it was carried out by Miriam Veals who is the college's independent living manager.
Those taking part were: 30-year-old John Anderson, Leanne May and James O’Donnell, who are both 25, 27-year-old Jamie Hudson, and Harry Ward (25).
Cantraybridge is a college for young adults with additional support needs, there are supported living houses at the site, and at the moment there are 18 students all coping with lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic.
Hazel MacDonald, the college's CEO, said: "Some of our residents had a get together and decided they wanted to do something positive during lockdown to cheer everybody up and raise some money for a worthwhile charity and their chosen charity is Hospice UK.
"They themselves came up with the idea of a charity head shave.
"All of our residents here have additional support needs and it is heart-warming to hear them thinking of others during this very difficult time.
"So far they have raised more than £500. I am so very proud of each and every one of them."
