Inverness tattoo studio moves to new premises
A busy Inverness street is now home to its third tattoo shop in recent months.
Extreme Tattoo recently moved its premises to Tomnahurich Street just months after Saorsa and Era opened their doors.
Extreme Tattoo has been operating in Inverness since 2012, however, its previous premises on Academy Street was no longer providing the customer experience the owner wanted to give clients.
Speaking about the move, Extreme Tattoo owner Gabi said: “We had piercing in the studio in Academy Street too, which got so busy that it was getting in the way of the customer experience for our tattoo artists and their clients.
“Our whole tattoo team has now come to Tomnahurich Street, and we have upgraded our offering for our customers.”
Being able to provide a five-star experience for clients in a professional environment is something the Extreme Tattoo team is extremely passionate about.
“From my point of view the client experience in Academy Street was going down, as you had six people waiting for a piercing," explained Gabi.
“We have a better, bigger space now where we can properly take care of our clients. This is a better location for a customer experience.
“We relaid the floors and have done the whole space out. We even weeded the bus shelter in front of the shop.”
The team of five all work well together, playing to each others artistic strengths.
Gabi said: “We have clients come in who want a certain design, and each of us have our own strengths and different artistic types. We work together to ensure the client gets the best result. People’s tattoos are our business cards.”
For them its more than a job, its a passion they pour their heart and soul into.
Resident tattooist JB, said: "When you leave here, you don't just switch off. You are always thinking about your design and practising techniques.
"We are always looking at new inks, new machines, new papers and testing everything out. We are always looking to progress and evolve, as that is the way the world is now. We are always raising our standard."
Gabi concluded: "This is the best job in the world. People open up to us when they are in the chairs for six or seven hours, and tell us things they don't tell anyone else."
