Hays Travel takes over at former Thomas Cook shop in Inverness
HIGHLAND travel experts who were previously part of the Thomas Cook travel chain will officially welcome back the public today as their city centre unit re-opens under new management.
The Inverness branch of the UK's best known travel agent, Thomas Cook, shut last month after the 178-year old business collapsed, threatening thousands of jobs.
However, fellow travel firm Hays Travel stepped in to take over all 555 Thomas Cook retail stores, including the Inverness branch on Inglis Street.
The Inverness branch, which is currently in the process of being re-branded, is expected to be able to offer a full travel booking service from today.
The re-opening has been warmly received on social media with past customers welcoming back the staff and promising to come in to book a holiday.
The Inverness shop will be open from 9am to 5.30pm on Mondays to Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
