Nairn jewellery theft accused to appear in Inverness Sheriff Court following arrest, say Police Scotland officers in the Highlands

Police investigating a break-in and jewellery theft at a Nairn house have arrested and charged a man in connection with the incident.

The 47-year-old, who has not been named, is expected to appear in Inverness Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The arrest comes after officers issued an appeal on Monday following the break-in at a property in Elizabeth Street at around 5pm on Sunday.

At the time officers said two gold chains, gold and diamond rings, and gold earrings had been taken.
