Stagecoach bus passengers have been speaking about a range of issues they claim are blighting the service in Inverness.

ANGRY commuters have called for a complete overhaul of bus services in Inverness, with Stagecoach accused of putting profits ahead of customer needs.

Passengers blasted the bus giant during a consultation event held to gather feedback on proposed timetable changes.

According to most, the problems go far beyond service timings.

Inverness South Councillor Duncan Macpherson said: “I regularly attend community council meetings and problems on buses are a major issue.

“I’ve been inundated with complaints about breakdowns, buses being late or not turning up at all and people having to use taxis to get to work."

He added: “I understand there have been emergency meetings of Stagecoach directors because they recognise there are major issues concerning the service.”

A Stagecoach spokeswoman denied there had been any “emergency meetings” and added the company was “delighted” with the feedback it received during the consultation and aware of some "frustrations".
