Lanes to close on A9 between Longman roundabout and Raigmore Interchange for six nights for drainage investigations
Motorists are being warned of lane closures on the A9 near Inverness for six nights for drainage investigations.
The work, by BEAR Scotland, will take place between Longman Roundabout and Raigmore Interchange.
The work is programmed to be undertaken from Monday December 9 to Sunday December 15 between 7pm and 7am each night.
Due to the nature of the works, and to protect road users, pedestrians, and workers, it will be necessary to implement a traffic management system by using temporary lane closures.
The lane closures will be removed outwith working hours.
Road users should be aware that SGN will also be carrying out emergency gas repairs at this section of the trunk road network.
This will mean one northbound lane off the Raigmore Interchange on to Milburn Road will be closed from Monday December 9 at 9.30am.
Access through the work site for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s northwest unit representative said: “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road and adjacent local authority roads.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
