This year you can attend seminars and workshops to learn how to make the media work for you, how to be more innovative, or how to build your brand. You can learn about opportunities to do business in Ireland or everything you need to know about the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport. You can hear about the state of the economy from RBS or how to connect your business with UHI students and graduates. Or, if you’re looking for a support network, we’ve got sessions focused on the food industry and on action learning sets.

Highland Spotlight is one of the week’s flagship events. This year the business-to-business event has more exhibitors than ever before and will attract engaged delegates who are eager to find out more about your business.

The week culminates with the Highland Business Awards. I had the privilege of chairing the judging panel and it was a great reminder of how fortunate we are to live in a region full of outstanding businesses. The entrants ranged from sole traders to international companies and came from a multitude of business sectors. The shortlist of finalists captures that variety perfectly. In amongst the variety what every company had in common was the role they play in their community. In some cases, they’ve been embedded there for generations but newer arrivals have quickly gained an understanding of their surroundings and have supported local initiatives.

For more information or to register for any of the events, head over to the Inverness Chamber of Commerce website. I look forward to seeing you there and celebrating another fantastic year of Highland business.
