Inverness long-distance cyclist makes good progress in Germany during his fundraising trip for Ukraine between Gdansk and The Gellions pub
An Inverness long-distance cyclist is making good progress across Germany during his fundraising trip.
Alasdair Fraser is hoping to cycle the 1000-mile route between Gdansk in Poland and The Gellions pub in Inverness in aid of the Ukrainian appeal.
By yesterday he had reached Bremmen after covering a total of 100 miles and on Saturday he covered 53 miles between Schwerin and Bleckede.
So far he has covered a distance of 620 miles between Gdansk and Bremen and he estimated that he has another 200 to 230 to go until he reaches Amsterdam/IJmuiden.
Speaking on Friday he said he had his best day so far when he covered 91 miles to a town called Schwern. He added: "Better roads, first real sunshine and hardly a breeze."
