LORRAINE BREMNER MCBRIDE: So much to love with positive developments for Inverness area
This Valentine’s Day there is much to love and highlight – the BID team are pleased to have published our new Business Plan (available on our website) following extensive feedback from our city centre businesses and which we hope to implement in a fourth term for the period 2023-28.
It is great news that Opportunity Cromarty Firth was awarded green freeport status providing a welcome boost to innovation, trade, investment, employment and promoting decarbonisation and a just transition to net zero – so very well done indeed to all those who worked so tirelessly to make it happen.
The new Inverness Airport Station has now opened and is a very welcome addition to the city transport network and well done also to the team at Stagecoach Highland for launching the UK’s first all-electric bus fleet in Inverness and for their ongoing efforts, often unseen to try and improve services in what remains a challenging climate for many businesses.
Some dates for the diary include: March 19, Mother’s Day – in conjunction with the Inverness Courier we will shortly be asking for your nominations for a special person you know who deserves a treat in the city centre, on April 7 and 8 our Great Easter Egg Hunt returns and with no upper age limit it’s something the whole family can enjoy and our Classic Vehicle Show will be back on May 20.
