Lorry fire closes A9 in both directions

A lorry fire has closed the A9 in both directions south of Blair Atholl.

Police and fire services are on the scene, Traffic Scotland confirmed shortly before 9am.

It is understood that three fire appliances were sent to the scene.

The incident is located between Blair Atholl and Killiecrankie.

A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: "The A9 is closed in both directions, near Killiecrankie, due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use the available signed diversion and expect longer than normal journey times."
