Inverness Sheriff Court: Man (47) charged with attempted murder after Tomnahurich Street assault





A 47-year-old man appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder following the alleged stabbing of a 51-year-old man in a flat in the city's Tomnahurich Street on Thursday, February 13.

Mark Macdonald from Inverness is accused of striking the victim on the neck with a knife or sharp instrument to his severe injury and that he did attempt to murder him.

The man was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and is believed to have been treated for a severed artery.

He has since been discharged.

Macdonald, who was represented by solicitor David Patterson, made no plea to the main charge and a breach of a bail condition not to be in Tomnahurich Street, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
