Inverness man was hit with a frying pan
A 58-YEAR-OLD man has been fined a total of £200 after admitting threatening behaviour and breaching bail conditions.
David Drummond, of St Francis Gardens, Inverness, originally denied assaulting a woman to her severe injury, threatening behaviour towards her and contacting her on July 26, 2019, eight days after the incident.
However, he later changed his plea to the second and third charge but before he did so, Inverness Sheriff Court heard from Drummond’s victim and her friend.
The victim said she got “very drunk” on her birthday, July 18, and could remember little of what happened in her home. She added that Drummond had got upset because his plans to take her out for lunch or dinner “were scuppered” by her drinking. “I bear no ill will towards Davie,” she added.
She said she had to get hospital treatment for a finger injury but did not know how it occurred. She also admitted hitting Drummond with a frying pan and biting him.
Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood accepted the not guilty plea to the assault charge. Defence solicitor Clare Russell said: “His sister had passed away shortly before this incident.”
