DOZENS of former Inverness Royal Academy pupils have enjoyed a trip down memory lane after gathering for a reunion more than 50 years after they left the school.

The Class of 1971 held a reunion at the old Midmills building, which was the former site of the school, on September 8. There were 42 people in attendance, including six ex-teachers.

The reunion included a tour of the old school and much catching up after 52 years.

"The response from all who attended was very positive," said a spokesman. "A charge was made at the door to cover costs and the excess of £215 is to be donated to the Highland Hospice."
