MILLBURN Academy will be closed today as more than 5000 Highland pupils get the day off school due to snow.
Inverness Royal Academy, Culloden Academy and Glen Urquhart High School are among a batch of closures announced by Highland Council.
Some schools are open or will open late.
The list of schools affected (at https://www.highland.gov.uk/schoolclosures) includes several primaries and secondaries in the region.
Meanwhile, motorists are using social media to report disruption on the A9.
Apparently the southbound lane is at a standstill just before the Inshes slip road, with queues back towards Longman roundabout.
Drivers are also reporting snow ploughs, lorries and cars stuck at Drumossie Brae on the A9.
